In 2015, I graduated from James Madison University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Interdisciplinary Liberal Studies with a concentration in Math, Science, and Technology. I received minors in Elementary Education and Educational Media. In 2016 I earned my Masters of Arts in Teaching Degree from James Madison University. Currently I work for Opequon Presbyterian Church as the Director for Youth and Young Adults and am an Overnight Manager for the Winchester Area Temporary Thermal Shelter.

Work experience

Director for Youth and Young Adults at Opequon Presbyterian Church

2017 - Present

Plan, lead, and communicate about weekly events for Youth in Grades 6-12. Coordinate monthly activities for Young Adults, ages 18-35.

Winchester Area Temporary Thermal Shelter Overnight Manager

2017 - 2018

Monitor shelter during sleeping hours, wake up guests, and assist with the transportation process.

Young Adult Volunteer/Dweller

2016 - 2017

Through the Young Adult Volunteer Program and Discovering Opportunities for Outreach and Reflection Program, I lived in an intentional Christian community, served at a local non-profit agency, learned about social justice issues, and lived simply.

Provided care and companionship to seniors so that they were able to stay in their own homes as long as possible. This included home helper and personal care services.

Worked for a retired couple which included helping them with their home by cleaning, organizing the house, packing boxes, moving heavy items, shopping, running errands, power-washing, painting, staining, fixing the driveway, leaf-blowing, mowing the lawn, planting flowers, taking care of pets, window washing,  weeding, etc.

Worked as an assistant to teach children from the ages of three up to fifth grade. Substituted as a lead teacher as well. Planned and taught lessons, facilitated play time, organized games and activities, helped with homework, planned crafts, served snack and lunch, communicated with parents during pick-up/arrival.
