Who I Am

Well...

I graduated with my Bachelor of Science Degree from James Madison Universtiy (JMU) in May 2015. While at JMU, I majored in Interdisciplinary Liberal Studies with a minor in Elementary Education, concentrating in Math, Science, and Technology, Additionally, I received a minor in Educational Media. Then in May 2016, I completed my Masters of Arts in Teaching at JMU.

Throughout the years I have enjoyed working with people from toddler age all the way up to older adults. I've learned so much and realized that I really love interacting with others. There is an inner teacher within me, but I want to do more with my education degree. I don't want to be limited to a classroom environment. My hopes and dreams have transformed over the last couple of years in a way that is hard to explain. But, I know that I will end up where I am supposed to be and no matter what I do, I will use my education background.

I have a heart for service, which led me to Denver, Colorado to work with the Young Adult Volunteer Program and Discovering Opportunities for Outreach and Reflection for a year. In Denver I worked at Senior Support Services, a day shelter for older adults experiencing homelessness. Upon my return to the Shenandoah Valley, I began working for Opequon Presbyterian Church as the Director for Youth and Young Adults. Additionally, During the 2017-2018 Winter Season, I worked as an Overnight Manager for the Winchester Area Temporary Thermal Shelter.
